SOME BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION ABOUT SOME OF OUR THERAPISTS IN EAST SUSSEX
Our Brighton hypnotherapist is Maya Zack, who also sees clients at our Islington branch in London. Maya has been a Partner for nine years, and she’s also a member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
In addition to Brighton, we have a Hove hypnotherapist, Helen Brooks. Helen has 13 years experience, and unusually she also has a degree in applied psychology, so as well as having a lot of practical experience she also has an exceptional amount of knowledge to bring to sessions with her clients.
Alison Clarke, our Eastbourne hypnotherapist, has been in practice for twelve years, having trained at the Institute of Clinical Hypnosis in London.
Our Lewes hypnotherapist, Richard Morley, is extremely experienced, having been in practice since 2001, and he uses a solution-focused approach. He also sees NSSC clients in Guildford and Haslemere.
……. IN WEST SUSSEX
Our Bognor Regis and Chichester hypnotherapist is Jacqui Maclean, who has been doing this work for twelve years and has also been an NSSC Partner for nine.
Our Worthing hypnotherapist, Sandi, has been with us now for nine years, and she brings a special interest in an holistic approach to the client’s issues.

Our Egham hypnotherapist, Christine, is one of our most experienced Partners, with 26 years in practice. She had always had a special interest in smoking cessation, so when the opportunity came she joined us nine years ago.
Our Reigate and Redhill hypnotherapist is David Devere. who qualified ten years ago and has been with us for the past eight.
Our Woking hypnotherapist, Jose, who has been in practice for 14 years, has a background of working with clients with stress issues, which is obviously helpful in smoking cessation.

Most people who come to our site looking for help to stop smoking know if they are looking for hypnotherapy or acupuncture. This article is here for two reasons. The first is that you might not know. You might have come here because we provide both, and you’re looking for advice about the best therapy for you. The other is that you thought you want hypnosis, but now you see we also provide acupuncture, and you’re not sure. Or the other way round.
So how can you make that choice? Is one better than the other? Which works better, hypnotherapy or acupuncture? Well, let’s answer that one straight away. Neither works better. If they did, we would always provide that one, wouldn’t we?
So why do we provide both therapies? Because some people need hypnosis to stop smoking, and others need acupuncture. That might surprise you. That there is no one smoking cessation therapy that’s best for everyone. Having said all that, let’s take a step back. Most people will successfully stop smoking with hypnotherapy. And most will succeed with acupuncture. So does that negate what we’ve been saying? Almost everyone seen by one of our acupuncturists is successful, and almost everyone seen by our hypnotherapists is too. But is that because both work just as well, or because we have chosen the right therapy for each client? A bit of both, actually.
Whichever therapy you have, you are far more likely to succeed than you have ever been if you have been trying the NHS’s smoking cessation drug products. This is because therapy works better than drugs. It’s why so many people come to us to stop smoking after they have failed with the products supplied by their GP.
Anyway, now you are here and you want to know how to choose. Hypnosis or acupuncture? Well, there is a simple answer, which is to phone us and let us advise you. We are the experts, after all. We’ve been doing this for many years. And we have no axe to grind. If you call, for example, a Brighton hypnotist, they are going to advise you to have hypnotherapy, of course. If you call a Brighton acupuncturist, well, they are going to recommend their therapy. If you call us, we are going, before we go any further, to assess if you need any therapy at all. This is because, unlike independent therapists, we are part of a non-profit medical foundation. We want to help you, but it makes no difference to us financially if you come or not.
Having decided that therapy is what you need, we then have no other axe to grind, which means we will recommend either hypnosis or acupuncture for no reason than that is the one you need.
Calling hypnotists and acupuncturists
Some of our hypnosis and acupuncture branches are looking for locum therapists to cover holidays and sickness. If you can match our high standards, we would like to hear from you. Email your details to our Partnership Services Secretary: firstname.lastname@example.org.
